Japanese merchants and their families were the trailblazers in this development, which has matured over the last six decades. The typical infrastructure gradually developed: Retail shots, banks, doctors, moving companies, insurance companies, chamber of commerce and industry as well as a general consulate. Of the 500 Japanese companies in NRW, 412 are located in D\u00fcsseldorf. <\/p>\n<p>In this unique neighbourhood you will find numerous Japanese supermarkets, bookstores, restaurants and much more. As a sign of their special bond, the Japanese Garden was gift from the Japanese Community of D\u00fcsseldorf to the people of D\u00fcsseldorf, organised by the \u201cJapanese Garden in D\u00fcsseldorf\u201d Association. <\/p>\n<p>The facility in Nordpark is 5,000 m2 in size and cost at the time 1.8 Marks. It has long since been one of the favourite places for D\u00fcsseldorfers. A trail leads people through the part, which is built on the garden with pond design and is referred to as a pleasure garden. \u201cA garden of the senses\u201d, it provides an oasis of quiet in the middle of our lively city.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Japan Day <\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\nJapan Day has been held in the state capital, D\u00fcsseldorf, in May or June, since 2002. It has become one of the most popular events in D\u00fcsseldorf. In the framework of a German-Japanese cultural celebration, the Japanese living in D\u00fcsseldorf bring the culture of their homeland to life for visitors. Kimono shows, calligraphy, samurai groups and musical groups are among the regular highpoints. The crowning event is the traditional Japanese fireworks show for which a pyrotechnics expert with specialised fireworks travels here from Japan.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Schloss Benrath<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\nSchloss Benrath lies in Benrath, a rural area around 12 km from the centre of D\u00fcsseldorf and was once commissioned by Prince Elector Carl Theodor von Pfalz-Sulzbach. The architect Nicolas de Pigage designed Schloss Benrath following the example of the French. The Maison de Plaisance was completed in 1770 and marks the highpoint of this type of construction, developed in France, the manorial summer residence in the country.<br \/>\nThe building complex consists of the residential tract, the corps de logis, which is flanked by two wings and two gate houses. As fits a summer residence, the architecture of the palace and garden are harmonised with each other. The palace, gardens, hunting park and water facilities are a formal and functional unit. <\/p>\n<p>Today, Schloss Benrath is home to several museums. The corps de logis can be viewed on guided tours. There are also periodic musical events here and rotating exhibitions displayed. The east wing is home to the European Museum of Garden Art and the west wing is home to the Museum of Natural Science. In 1996, the entire palace complex was placed under protected monument status by the city of D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily reach Schloss Benrath from Hotel Asahi in 15 minutes by car.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>MedienHafen<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\u201cThe Architect\u2019s Mile\u201d in D\u00fcsseldorf was still typified by empty unattractive warehouses along the old Rhine ports about a decade ago. With great care, this section of the city was revitalised and has since then radiated a new attraction. Renowned architects were allowed to let their creativity run wild here. The most famous ensemble is made up of the Gehry Buildings. They are the newest landmark in D\u00fcsseldorf and are the architectural centre of D\u00fcsseldorf\u2019s \u201cMediaHafen\u201d. Designed by the famous U.S. architect, the buildings were completed in 1999. The contrasting designs of the building components and the selection of different materials lends to the overall complete effect of a gigantic sculpture. <\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless this quarter has retained its port character. Warehouses, quay walls, open stairways, cast iron pillars, rail yards, cranes and forged iron rails are all under protection as monuments. Modern companies now occupy the renovated warehouses and offer the widest range of services and profit from the image of the MediaHafen, a unique atmosphere of working right on the water.<\/p>\n<p>In the matter of \u201ccuisine\u201d, the Mediahafen also has a lot to offer. The range of offerings extends from \u201ccurrywurst\u201d to star-rated restaurants. At noon the employees of the firms located here can grab a quick business lunch while in the evening hipsters can enjoy a pleasant cocktail before partying the night away in the cool clubs.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Shopping<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\nD\u00fcsseldorf is one of the most famous cities in the world for fashion and shopping. The centre of luxury shopping is located in K\u00f6nigsallee, the most opulent boulevard of the city. One luxury brand stands right next to another there and more and more famous fashion stores are coming to the K\u00f6nigsallee, fitting with its exclusive image. <\/p>\n<p>There are also large, exclusive shopping centres in the K\u00f6nigsallee, such as the K\u00f6-Gallery, the Stilwerk and Sevens. If you need a break from all the shopping, you can find a place to watch the colourful traffic stream by in one of the street caf\u00e9s and restaurants. The opulent street is also the largest catwalk in the city, where the rich and beautiful present the newest fashion trends to the public. The tree-lined K\u00f6-Graben with its bridges and fountains also contributes to the special flair of this boulevard. <\/p>\n<p>D\u00fcsseldorf also has other shopping quarters beyond the K\u00f6nigsallee. Founded by the Romans, Cologne looks back on a 2,000-year history that one can still experience in its cityscape today. The most famous landmark of the city is the Cologne Cathedral, which is an absolute \u201cmust-see\u201d. Cologne also offers a lively cultural scene and is known for many important international events. <\/p>\n<p><b>Oberhausen \u2028<\/b>is located in the middle of the Ruhr region and is synonymous with the successful structural transformation from a centre of heavy industry to a centre of the service and tourism industries.
